Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Estimator in the oil & gas industry in Saint John, New Brunswick. The Senior Estimator will be responsible to develop high quality cost estimates for capital construction projects. Ability to develop accurate project estimates is an essential element for success in this role. Total rewards: $73.50 - $85.00 hourly *Please note that the rates indicated are intended for consultants engaged by their Ltd. or Inc. entities. 24-month contract Preferred rates for benefit coverage available A typical day: Deliver full multi-disciplined estimates, primarily AACE Class 4 and Class 3 for refinery maintenance and turnaround capital projects Develop estimate plans, lead estimate reviews and document a clear Basis of Estimate (BOE). Prepares material take-offs from engineered drawings, and validates MTOs provided by Engineering Collaborate with various team members, engineering, procurement & contracts, construction, planners, safety, operations, contractors and 3rd party vendors/suppliers to ensure all project scope is properly represented in the estimate. Maintain data integrity of estimating tools, including wage rates, unit rates, productivity factors. Prepare estimates for scope growth/changes including execution plan changes. Validate construction contractor pricing to support bid evaluations as needed. Perform risk analysis to determine, recommend, plan, and implement estimate contingency. Successful candidates will have: Post secondary education in engineering or engineering technology with 10 or more years of direct estimating experience in Refinery, Oil and Gas, or other heavy industry following AACE estimating practices. Expertise in estimating Direct Field Cost (DFC), Indirect Field Cost (IFC), Engineering, Other Costs, cost contingency, escalation, allowances, and BOE development. Advanced proficiency with Excel creating pivot tables, dashboards, lookups. Power BI and database skills are an asset AACE CEP certification an asset Expert in all aspects of estimating; tools, techniques and methodologies.
