Blockchain Engineering Lead

 

The role:


We are building the next generation of real-time, programmable payment rails and are looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to join our team. You will be joining a team as a champion of value-driven delivery and enable the team to execute against its priorities in a fast paced environment. You will gain exposure to the latest technology trends, unlock new capabilities for the bank while having opportunities to coach and mentor a high performing team. 

 

The Engineering Lead will work closely with business, technology, risk, and operations stakeholders to ensure digital currency capabilities are delivered in alignment with enterprise governance, control frameworks, and quality standards.

 

 


What will you do?

 

  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of project milestones while following the software delivery standards at the bank
  • Prepare roadmaps that align various cross team dependencies and stakeholders
  • Identify risks and implement remediation activities to help the team stay on track
  • Lead technical discussions, influence design and strategy decisions
  • Bring industry best practices and knowledge to the team on emerging topics like crypto currency, blockchain, distributed ledger technology
  • Contribute to proof-of-concepts, pilots, and controlled production releases.
  • Coach and mentor team members, creating a self-organizing and outcome focused team
  • Communicate with stakeholders across different business lines, prepare executive communications and project updates
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions

 


What do you need to succeed?

 

Mandatory

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an Engineering Lead or similar role
  • Hands on experience delivering complex technology projects including components of the design, build, test and implementation phases
  • Experience with API driven, microservice architecture
  • Experience managing vendor supported technology solutions
  • Ability to learn new and emerging technologies
  • Experience coaching and mentoring high performing teams
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders including technology, risk, compliance, and operations.
  • Experience operating within structured SDLC and change management frameworks in regulated environments.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to digital assets, blockchain technologies, smart contracts, tokenized payment concepts.
  • Experience supporting initiatives subject to enhanced governance or regulatory oversight.
