Calling all Wildlife Technicians and Biologists! Stantec is seeking to build a pool of talented professional biologists, scientists, and technicians to support our growing construction monitoring program. Do you want to be part of a talented team that partners with clients to successfully meet environmental and regulatory requirements and deliver large projects in an environmentally responsible manner? Project field needs include amphibian salvage, bear den surveys, and bat maternity roost and hibernacula surveys. Your Capabilities and Credentials

Looking for all levels: Junior (less than 3 years), Intermediate (3 to 9 years), and Senior (10+ years)

Wildlife Field Technician

  • Technical degree or diploma in environmental science and biological sciences

  • General knowledge of relevant local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and policies

  • Comfortable working in a construction environment in remote locations for 2-3 weeks at a time

  • Must be a team player with a proactive and open-minded attitude

Wildlife Field Crew Lead

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental management, science, biology, forestry, or a related field

  • General knowledge of relevant local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and policies

  • Experience in the collection of biological and environmental field data. Experience on wildlife programs is an asset

  • Must be a good communicator, leader, and problem-solver with a positive attitude and attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in a construction environment and directing a small team in remote locations for 2-3 weeks at a time

Intermediate and Senior Wildlife Biologists

  • Minimum bachelor’s in environmental science, environmental management, biology, science, forestry, or related field

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience or a combination of education and experience

  • Knowledge of relevant local, provincial, and federal environmental regulations and policies

  • Ideal candidates will have experience in some or all of the following (field- or desktop-based): - Amphibian salvage

  • Bear den surveys

  • Bat maternity roost and hibernacula surveys

Positions may include work in a typical office environment, working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include remote locations, staying at industrial camps, and exposure to the elements, including inclement weather. Ability to lift and move items and equipment up to 50 lbs.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
