About the Opportunity

Our Federal Government Client is advancing a major digital transformation to modernize how information and data are managed across the department. In this Special Advisor role, you’ll help strengthen secure, user-centric digital platforms that support operational readiness and day-to-day effectiveness.

You’ll work closely with IM stakeholders, site owners, admins, and end users to make SharePoint Online and Defence 365 environments easier to navigate, safer to use, and more consistent to maintain. Your impact will be felt through clearer guidance, improved access control, and a unified digital experience that supports enterprise-wide collaboration.

What’s in it for You

You’ll join a mission-driven environment where your expertise directly supports Canada’s defence community. Expect meaningful work, strong stakeholder partnership, and the satisfaction of building practical solutions that improve how people find and use critical IM resources.

This is a chance to contribute to high-visibility modernization initiatives, expand your federal experience, and deliver tangible improvements in governance, usability, and security.

Your Responsibilities

  • You’ll assess existing IM platforms (SPO, D365, GCdocs) to identify security, access, design, and discoverability gaps.

  • You’ll develop a clear work plan with milestones, priorities, and delivery approach.

  • You’ll evaluate options for permission models and design standards, documenting risks and mitigations.

  • You’ll engage stakeholders to gather needs, validate findings, and maintain momentum through transparent communication.

  • You’ll configure permissions, groups, and role assignments, helping ensure appropriate L1 admin rights and risk controls.

  • You’ll apply unified site templates and improve how IM guidance and resources are organized and maintained.

  • You’ll prepare briefings and reporting for senior leadership, connecting outcomes to digital stewardship objectives.

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of strategic IM analysis experience in a federal context (within the last 10 years).

  • 3+ years of business process analysis and/or program design experience.

  • 3+ years hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, including SharePoint Online and Power Platform.

  • Strong understanding of access management, permissions, and governance in enterprise environments.

  • Confident communicator who can translate technical findings into clear recommendations.

  • Proven ability to build alignment across diverse stakeholders and competing priorities.
