You’ll collaborate with doctrine leads, working groups, and stakeholders across CAF units and government departments, bringing structure, consistency, and editorial excellence to complex material. Your ability to translate technical and operational concepts into accessible, well-governed doctrine will help strengthen decision-making, training, and capability development.

You’ll join a purpose-driven environment where quality, precision, and collaboration matter. This role offers meaningful exposure to national defence documentation, senior-level briefings, and doctrine development practices, with the chance to make a real impact through your writing.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and summarize reference materials, terminology, and proposed doctrinal changes aligned to CAF and NATO standards.
  • Develop and present CAF Writing Plans for Canadian Forces Joint Publications (CFJPs).
  • Draft and refine working copies of CFJPs in accordance with CFJP A1 doctrine development guidance.

  •  Preview doctrine drafted by others, providing clear edits to improve accuracy, structure, and readability.

  • Support briefings for senior military personnel and help coordinate working groups, schedules, and materials.

  • Experience developing and presenting at least one writing plan within the last 6 years
