We are seeking a seasoned Software Engineer with over 5 years of experience using C#, .net and Java. Experience with either Angular or React is also required. If you are passionate about writing clean, maintainable code, enjoy solving challenging problems and work well both independently and as part of a large, cross-functional team, this role may be for you!


Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

 

  • Design, develop, and maintain high-quality software solutions using C#, .net and Java.
  • Implement and consume RESTful APIs with secure authentication mechanisms such as OAuth.
  • Apply software engineering best practices including SOLID principles, design patterns, and clean code methodologies.
  • Work at a high technical level of systems development while maintaining a good knowledge of the Real Estate Secured Lending business strategies and applications.
  • Write and optimize database queries and manage relational data using SQL.
  • Deploy, manage and scale applications in cloud environments using Kubernetes.
  • Execute technical solutions skillfully, collaborate with extended team, engage in production support and release implementation support.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes including CI/CD, version control, and automated testing.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? We'd love to work with you if you have:
 

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software development using C#, .net and Java.
  • Practical understanding of design patterns, SOLID principles, and clean code practices.
  • Proficiency in OAuth, RESTful APIs, and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and Kubernetes.
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and at least one modern front-end framework (Angular or React).
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), unit testing, and test-driven development.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive, curious mindset.
  • Experience with a major bank or within the financial industry a plus.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems an asset.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines an asset.
  • Exposure to containerization tools such as Docker an asset.
  • Knowledge of security best practices in software development an asset.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers or leading technical initiatives an asset.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders an asset.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments an asset.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and staying current with industry trends an asset.
