Business Analyst – COTS Implementation (Contract)
Location: Ottawa, Hybrid (1 day/ week in office)
Language: Advanced English (oral and written). French considered an asset.
Duration: 15-month Contract

Your Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
- Conduct market scans and evaluate vendor solutions to meet business needs.
- Analyze and document current (“as-is”) workflows, systems, and practices.
- Lead fit-gap analyses to align current processes with future-state models and platform capabilities.
- Identify gaps, risks, and areas requiring configuration, process improvement, or change management.
- Translate findings into actionable business requirements and user stories.
- Collaborate with SMEs and project leads to develop RFPs and evaluate vendors.
- Participate in design and configuration review sessions, ensuring requirements are incorporated.
- Build strong working relationships with client teams and vendor leads.
- Lead UAT planning and execution.
- Facilitate workshops, interviews, and collaborative design sessions to gather input and ensure buy-in.
- Support business readiness, including training plans and documentation for successful implementation.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience
- 7–10 years in business analysis, system/process analysis, and stakeholder engagement.
- Proven experience conducting fit-gap analyses and onboarding teams onto new technology or platforms.
- Experience with software implementations, including major COTS deployments.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles to develop training for technical solutions.
- Experience in government-funded projects or pan-Canadian initiatives is an asset.
- Background in healthcare, education, or regulated professional environments is a plus.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of business analysis methodologies and tools (process mapping, use cases, requirements traceability).
- Familiarity with software implementation lifecycles (Agile/Waterfall/Hybrid).
- Excellent facilitation, interviewing, and presentation skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, Teams, Visio, and business analysis tools.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Understanding of qualitative data analysis, reporting, and AI tools for data insights.
- Knowledge of change management principles and frameworks.

- Certifications considered an asset: CBAP, Prosci, PMP, Agile (Scrum Master, SAFe), Prince2, ITIL, Lean Six Sigma Green/Black Belt.
