Agilus is recruiting for a Process Engineer in the Oil and Gas industry in Redwater, Alberta.
We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to join a dynamic team supporting refinery operations. In this role, you’ll optimize production, troubleshoot processes, and collaborate across departments to ensure safe, efficient, and profitable operations. This is a maternity leave coverage position starting January 6th.

Responsibilities:
Monitor and optimize assigned process units for safe operations
Collaborate with operators and engineers to implement strategies
Conduct root cause investigations and follow-up actions
Update engineering documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, safeguarding manuals)
Execute MOC processes and participate in risk reviews (HAZOP, SIL)
Prepare scopes for turnarounds and review operating procedures
Perform process calculations and simulations for troubleshooting
Liaise with HSE team to ensure compliance with regulatory limits
Requirements:
Chemical Engineering degree with eligibility for P.Eng. in Alberta
Minimum 5 years of experience in refinery, upgrader, or petrochemical operations
Knowledge of hydroprocessing, gasification, distillation, hydrogen production
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Ability to support projects and influence small teams
Experience with process simulation tools (Pro-II, ProMax, HTRI)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and plant engineering support
Willingness to work occasional after-hours during operational upsets
