About the Opportunity
Our client, a large community-focused organization in the public and social services sector, is seeking a friendly, organized and bilingual Receptionist and Central Switchboard Operator to support a busy front desk environment. You will be the first point of contact for visitors, clients and staff, helping create a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring communication flows smoothly throughout the agency.
In this role, you will support a team that is committed to delivering meaningful services to the community. You will play an essential part in keeping daily operations running smoothly, helping staff stay connected and ensuring every interaction reflects care and professionalism.

Your Responsibilities
You will greet and assist visitors in English and French, maintaining a tidy and organized reception area.
You will manage the reception register, coordinate incoming and outgoing mail and assist with courier deliveries.
You will oversee meeting room and access room bookings and ensure shared spaces remain orderly.
You will operate a central switchboard, screening and directing internal and external calls.
You will report telephone or queue issues to the appropriate IT contacts.
You will uphold the organization’s policies on ethics, confidentiality, anti-oppression and health and safety.
Skills and Qualifications
Secondary School Diploma and 1 year of recent, related experience, or an equivalent blend of education and experience.
Excellent customer service skills with a professional telephone manner and strong judgment.
Ability to communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with clients and staff.
Demonstrated initiative, problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Flexibility to adapt to changing service needs.
Bilingual fluency in English and French.
