VCA Canada is excited to welcome a full-time Hospital Manager supporting multiple locations in the Calgary region. In this role, you’ll lead an incredible team of compassionate veterinary professionals who are deeply committed to providing exceptional care to pets and creating a warm, supportive experience for their owners.
Under the guidance of the Regional Director and in partnership with the Area Medical Director, the Hospital Manager performs a wide range of administrative activities related to the practice. The successful candidate will be passionate about providing leadership and development to a multifaceted team that delivers high-quality veterinary services to our patients and pet owners. The role will require strong organizational, administrative and people skills to meet hospital deadlines and related goals. Key responsibilities and attributes for this role are:
Experience in personnel management in multi-faceted roles; delegate, motivate and coordinate.
Administrative skills: scheduling staff, document control, filing, various reporting and coordinating office services (equipment/supplies/forms/procedures)
Leadership skills: fostering people relationships, providing coaching opportunities, towards the goal of quality patient care and excellent client service
Exceptional interpersonal skills in working with your colleagues, pet parents and community
Adaptable; the ability to adapt to change in a growing, multifaceted client service and animal health industry
Change management: the ability to drive and manage positive change – processes, people and growth
Direct and develop the veterinary, technical and administrative staff towards the goal of quality patient care and excellent client service; assist in the formulation of objectives and policies to ensure efficient and profitable hospital operations.
Oversee the hiring, reviewing, disciplining and terminating of professional staff, in accordance with and with the approval of the Regional Management team.
P&L monthly review, in collaboration with the Hospital Medical Director; budget forecasting, operating plan, and cap-ex expenditures and participation in the evaluation process with the Regional Management team.
Positively represent the hospital and VCA in the professional community and to the general public.
