Agilus is recruiting for a Electrical Technician III in the Oil and Gas Sector in Edmonton, Alberta.
As an Electrical Technician, you will have a vital part in guaranteeing the smooth operation of our electrical equipment.
Total rewards:
$35.00 - $44.00 hourly
1 year (with a possibility of extension)
Monday to Friday, every second Friday off - 9-hour day (40 hours) except Friday which is 8
A mix of field (~80%) and office (~20%) environments
Working on and around high voltage equipment, transformers, disconnects, switchgear, motor control centers, electrical service buildings, etc
Operating in hazardous or restricted locations such as pump rooms, confined spaces, tank lots, and classified areas within the yard and ROW.
Travel and on-call responsibilities for assigned areas and stations
Capable of performing outdoor duties in various weather conditions, handling physically challenging responsibilities such as standing, sitting, bending, walking, crouching, and repetitively lifting up to 50lbs
A typical day:
Performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical and associated equipment such as valves, motors, turbine and/or PD meters, sampling systems, relief systems, and other electrical devices.
Coordinating activities with Supervisors, Planners/Schedulers, Mechanical Technicians, Electricians Technicians, CCO, Regional Support, contractors, and PLM to plan, schedule, and complete all work safely and efficiently.
Ensuring all maintenance work aligns with regulations and company Operation & Maintenance (O&M) procedure requirements.
Being on call as required for emergency responses and maintenance.
Completing and staying current on all required safety and technical training.
Maintaining facility records and updating drawings as necessary.
Adhering to all company policies.
Successful candidates will have:
High School Diploma or equivalent experience and Journeyperson Electrical with provincial or interprovincial certification. An instrumentation background is an asset
2 to 5 years of experience in an industrial field or field department
Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
Proven strong work ethic, good computer skills, a willingness to learn, and a positive team attitude.
Adherence to fundamental principles of safety, integrity, respect, inclusion and high performance.
- Pipeline experience is a nice to have
- High voltage experience is an asset
- Maximo + Oracle Cloud experience is handy
- Field-based role
