Salary: $3,056.50 to $4,006.62 bi-weekly ($79,774 to $104,572 / year)
The Ministry of Assisted Living and Social Services (ALSS) leads housing, assisted living and continuing care, seniors, income, employment and homelessness supports, disability services, and other social-based programs. Employment and Financial Services (EFS) Division is responsible for policy development and delivery of employment and income services including contracted employment services, career resources, and the Income Support (IS) and Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped (AISH) programs.
Reporting to the Program Integrity Manager of the ISIU and working in collaboration with the ISIU Management Team, the Team Lead manages and participates in the Program Integrity related work of the unit.
The Team Lead is responsible for the direct supervision of operational support completing overpayments and administrative members, coordinating the work of members and utilizing good supervisory practices to develop and maintain an effective, focused and professional team. The position represents the ISIU at overpayment appeals.
The position provides leadership for implementation of business unit goals and strategies and leads change by translating broad organizational strategy into meaningful functional actions and information for members of the investigation team.
This role provides the opportunity to consult, collaborate, and build relationships with stakeholders, both internally and externally. This will improve the exchange on information on trends and process improvements. Due to the nature of the work, interactions with program clients can be challenging and at times adversarial, therefore well-developed skills in communication, problem solving, and professional conduct are very important for success in the role.
As a Team Lead, you will be playing a significant role in establishing and maintaining a work environment that is conductive to employee satisfaction and productivity. The ability to de-escalate confrontational situations will be a key attribute of the role.

As the Operational Support Team Lead, in addition to your education and experience, you will demonstrate well-honed competencies in the following areas:
A University degree in social sciences, humanities, business or another related field plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience.
Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience mentoring individuals is required.

Location: Edmonton or Calgary. Alternative locations may be considered subject to the availability of Government of Alberta workspace.
