About the Opportunity
Are you a detail-oriented accounting professional ready to join a team that values precision, integrity, and collaboration? We are working with a well-established compliance and market-access organization that is looking for a Staff Accountant to support full-cycle accounting operations on-site in Ottawa. In this hands-on role, you will help ensure financial accuracy and compliance while contributing to a workplace that cares about people, quality, and shared success.
You will be part of a tight-knit finance team supporting operational excellence in a private-sector services organization. Working closely with colleagues and management, your contributions will support the organization’s financial health, enabling it to deliver on its objectives while fostering a supportive, inclusive environment.
What’s in it for You
You’ll join a workplace that values collaboration, inclusion, and growth. The organization encourages continuous learning and supports professional development, offering a culture where work-life balance and personal growth matter. You’ll enjoy competitive compensation, comprehensive health and dental benefits, a pension plan after the first year, generous starting vacation time, and support for certifications or further training. The environment is relaxed and supportive — dress is casual, parking is free, and your voice and contribution will matter.
Your Responsibilities
- You will prepare and reconcile balance sheets to ensure accuracy and adherence to company financial policies.
- You will manage the full accounts receivable cycle — invoicing, billing, collections, cash flow reporting, and following up on overdue accounts.
- You will support month-end and year-end close processes, including account analysis, reporting, and providing audit support.
- You will review and resolve intercompany reconciliation variances as needed.
- You will implement, monitor, and maintain internal financial controls to safeguard financial data integrity.
- You will collaborate with other accounting team members to ensure consistency and compliance across financial operations.
- You will use NetSuite ERP to streamline accounting processes and maintain accurate data, while supporting the Finance & Business Support Manager on various accounting and business support tasks.
Skills and Qualifications
- 2+ years of full-cycle general accounting experience, with a strong focus on accounts receivable.
- Demonstrated experience with month-end and year-end close, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and accounting software such as NetSuite.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial recordkeeping.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working well within a team.
- Ability to work onsite in Ottawa and integrate smoothly with the team.
