About the Opportunity
Our client in the private sector is seeking a highly skilled French bilingual Collections Specialist to support a large portfolio of Quebec-based accounts. This role is essential to the financial health of the organization, ensuring timely payments and maintaining strong client relationships across both French and English markets.
In this position, you will work on-site alongside a collaborative team, partnering closely with the Credit Manager and fellow collectors. Because the majority of communication is conducted in French, this role is ideal for someone who is confident, polished, and comfortable managing detailed, customer-facing conversations in both languages.
What’s in it for You
You will join a team that values professionalism, independence, and a supportive work culture. With a large percentage of work performed in French, this role offers meaningful exposure to bilingual client management and complex account structures.
You will further develop your AR, collections, and billing skills in an environment that encourages ownership, growth, and work-life balance. With benefits beginning on day one and a steady schedule, this is an excellent long-term opportunity for a driven bilingual professional.
Your Responsibilities
- You will manage a portfolio of approximately 200 accounts, with a heavy concentration of Quebec clients and daily communication conducted primarily in French.
- You will make and receive collections calls, assess overdue accounts, negotiate payment solutions, and ensure follow-through on commitments.
- In this role, you will investigate discrepancies, prepare reconciliations, and resolve payment disputes while maintaining professionalism in both French and English.
- You will support the billing function by generating accurate invoices, reviewing data, and assisting with credits, re-bills, and related tasks.
- You will review aging reports, identify overdue accounts, recommend next steps, and collaborate with internal teams when escalation is required.
Skills and Qualifications- 2+ years of experience in collections, accounts receivable, or billing
- Fluency in French and English, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and AR processes
- Proficiency in Excel and comfort working in CRM or financial systems
- Excellent organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail
- A self-starter approach, strong ethical judgment, and the ability to investigate account discrepancies independently
- Ability to maintain a professional presence in an on-site work environment
Note from the Hiring Manager
“We are looking for someone who communicates clearly and confidently in both French and English. If you enjoy solving problems, taking ownership, and working in a team that values professionalism and trust, you will thrive here.”
