About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a large, mission-driven non-profit organization that supports youth through housing, mental health programs, and community services. As the Manager of Property Services, you will lead the stewardship of 22 locations across Ottawa, taking primary responsibility for nine owned buildings that include long-term housing units and two shelters. This is a newly created role with meaningful impact, where your work directly contributes to safe, stable, and supportive environments for vulnerable youth.
You will join a collaborative team of five dedicated property professionals and work closely with internal program teams to centralize processes, modernize systems, and build an efficient property management function from the ground up. This is a chance to shape the future of property operations, implement new tools, and bring consistency to how buildings are maintained and cared for across the organization.
What’s in it for You
You’ll contribute to a purpose-driven culture that prioritizes community impact, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You’ll work in an environment that values balance and flexibility, including adaptable core hours and the potential for hybrid work once established.
You’ll also enjoy a comprehensive total rewards package including a defined benefit pension plan fully paid by the employer, generous vacation entitlements that grow with tenure, extensive paid sick time, mileage reimbursement, and opportunities to lead meaningful organizational change.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll lead the full property management function for owned buildings, overseeing maintenance planning, inspections, repairs, and facility operations.
You’ll centralize property data and processes by selecting and implementing a new property management software system.
You’ll manage relationships with contractors and vendors, ensuring service quality, cost effectiveness, and alignment with procurement guidelines.
You’ll develop and manage facility budgets, monitor spending, and prepare monthly reports on performance and priorities.
You’ll guide and coach a team of five, supporting training, scheduling, performance expectations, and safe work practices.
You’ll conduct regular building visits, support tenant relations within long-term housing units, and oversee move-ins and move-outs.
You’ll ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, emergency procedures, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations.
