About the Opportunity
Our client, a respected Canadian retail organization known for developing high-quality consumer products, is seeking a Consultant, Product Development II to join their growing team. This role is ideal for someone who is energized by innovation and inspired by the outdoors, with the chance to influence the design and experience of beloved private-label brands.
As part of a collaborative group of designers, engineers, and cross-functional partners, you will play a key role in shaping products that help Canadians enjoy outdoor adventures. You will contribute from concept to execution, working closely with teams across Brand, Merchandising, Quality, and international production partners to bring memorable, user-focused products to life.

Your Responsibilities
- You will communicate product concepts through sketches, renderings, and technical specification packages.
- You will contribute to innovative, value-driven designs grounded in consumer insights and market trends.
- You will support product strategies that align with the company vision and brand identity.
- You will conduct market research to uncover new opportunities for both new and existing product lines.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support timely, successful product launches.
- You will liaise with manufacturing partners to ensure design intent, cost targets, and quality expectations are met.
- You will gather post-launch insights to help guide continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of product development experience in hard or soft goods.
- Undergraduate degree in Industrial Design, Engineering, or a related field.
- Expertise in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with experience in SolidWorks considered an asset.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as cut-and-sew, embroidery, molding, and high-frequency welding.
- Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Proactive, organized, and able to manage timelines with precision.
- Passion for outdoor recreation is a strong asset.
