Altis Recruitment is seeking a motivated and versatile Human Resources Business Partner for a leading engineering client. In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to management, delivering HR solutions that drive performance, engagement, and organizational effectiveness. You will have the opportunity to influence HR strategy, support talent initiatives, and contribute to continuous process improvement across the business.

 

This is a hybrid role (1-2 days a week on site) that can be based out of the client's Ottawa, Halifax, Victoria, or Winnipeg offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support client groups of professional employees throughout Canada, providing guidance on HR matters.
  • Coach and support management in leadership development, performance and talent management, change management, employee engagement, and communication.
  • Design, develop, and deliver HR programs and processes, including orientation, onboarding, performance management, compensation, engagement initiatives, and annual leadership/skills development reviews.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition Specialists to identify recruitment strategies and resolve recruitment challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with employment legislation and company policies, conduct investigations, and maintain accurate HR records.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the HR team and business unit by influencing HR strategies, policies, and methods.
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Must be eligible for a Canadian Secret Security Clearance.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant HR experience, with at least 3 years in a similar HR Business Partner role supporting a client group.
  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • Current CHRP/CPHR designation required.
  • Experience in Federally regulated sectors is required.
  • Proven experience in creating, developing, and implementing HR business solutions for diverse client groups.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels through various communication channels.
  • Results-oriented with a clear understanding of the strategic expectations of an HR Business Partner role.
