About the Role
Our client, a well-established public accounting firm in Ottawa, is seeking an experienced Tax Partner to join their leadership team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior tax professional with deep public practice experience to lead complex advisory engagements, oversee advanced tax planning, and manage a diverse portfolio of clients, including high-net-worth individuals and owner-managed businesses.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, excellent client relationship skills, and the ability to mentor and support a growing tax team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead advanced tax planning engagements, including reorganizations, estate and succession planning, corporate structuring, and complex advisory mandates.
Oversee and review complex corporate, personal, and trust tax engagements.
Manage an established portfolio of clients and serve as their primary tax advisor.
Guide on tax implications for business transactions and corporate decisions.
Support firm leadership with strategic planning and overall tax practice growth.
Mentor and develop tax staff, including managers, seniors, and junior team members.
Collaborate with partners across service lines to deliver integrated client solutions.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of Canadian tax legislation and communicate updates to clients and internal teams.
Qualifications
CPA designation required.
10–13+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting.
Completion of CPA In-Depth Tax (Level I–III) or equivalent advanced tax training.
Demonstrated experience with reorganizations, estate planning, and complex tax advisory work.
Proven ability to manage client relationships at a senior level.
Strong technical, analytical, and communication skills.
Leadership experience with the ability to mentor and support tax staff.
