Salary: $110,000–$130,000+ (based on experience)

About the Role
Our client, a reputable public accounting firm in Ottawa, is seeking an experienced Tax Manager with strong public practice experience to lead corporate and personal tax engagements. This role is ideal for a CPA who excels in tax compliance, has experience reviewing complex files, and can support tax planning initiatives for owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth clients.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and review corporate, personal, and trust tax returns (T2, T1, T3), including more complex and multi-entity files.
Oversee tax compliance engagements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with CRA guidelines.
Support tax planning engagements, including reorganizations, estate and succession planning, and corporate structuring.
Review tax provisions and identify potential issues, risks, and planning opportunities.
Lead, mentor, and support junior and intermediate staff through technical review and coaching.
Assist partners with client meetings, advisory work, and delivering tax recommendations.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Canadian tax legislation and communicate key updates to clients and internal teams.
Contribute to process improvements and strengthen tax workflows and documentation.
Qualifications
CPA designation required.
Minimum 5–7+ years of tax experience in public accounting.
Strong technical knowledge of Canadian tax rules (corporate, personal, trust).
Previous experience reviewing complex corporate tax files is required.
Experience with basic tax planning and reorganization work is an asset.
Proficiency with tax software (TaxPrep, CCH, CaseWare) preferred.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple engagements.
