Our leading government client in Winnipeg, MB is looking for an SAP BASIS Technical lead to join their team. This will be a 6 month term to start + 18 month extension (24 months total). This will be an onsite role at the Winnipeg, MB office (hybrid flexibility).

Overview:
The SAP BASIS Technical Lead is responsible for managing and maintaining the technical infrastructure of SAP systems, ensuring optimal stability, performance, and security. This role includes leading a team of BASIS administrators and providing technical guidance across SAP environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of SAP BASIS administrators.
- Oversee the stability, performance, and security of all SAP systems.
- Support and maintain SAP environments, including S/4 HANA, ECC, and related modules.
- Collaborate with technical and functional teams to deliver scalable SAP solutions.
- Provide technical leadership for large ERP programs and public-sector initiatives.
- Prepare written reports and status updates on program and project progress.
- Apply project management methodologies to ensure successful delivery of SAP solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues with attention to detail.
The Resource must have the following minimum qualifications or experience:
- A post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 7+ years of experience in business analysis, system analysis, and solution architecture of complex information systems.
- 7+ years of experience in SAP BASIS administration with strong technical expertise.
- 7+ years of experience with SAP S/4 HANA, ECC, and other SAP modules.
- 7+ years of experience with databases such as Sybase/ASE.
- 7+ years of proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
- Experience working on large ERP programs.
- Experience working in the public sector.
- Experience with project management methodologies.
- 3–5 years of leadership experience managing employees or team members.
- Experience preparing written reports and program status updates.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with co-workers, direct reports, and stakeholders.
