About the Role
Our public-sector client in Manitoba is seeking a senior Business Analyst to support IT project teams in a complex, multi-departmental environment. The successful candidate will lead requirements gathering, business process analysis, and solution documentation to align projects with strategic objectives. This role involves significant collaboration with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Lead workshops to gather and analyze business requirements.
Document business processes, use cases, and user stories.
Conduct process reengineering and identify optimization opportunities.
Develop business cases and assess costs, risks, and benefits.
Translate business needs into clear technical requirements and functional specs.
Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure solution alignment.
Conduct impact assessments and participate in testing and QA.
Prepare training materials and conduct user training sessions.
Provide mentorship to junior analysts and ensure documentation quality.
Communicate complex concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Must-Have Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Commerce, or equivalent field.
10+ years as a Business Analyst in large, complex environments.
5+ years conducting process analysis and re-engineering.
5+ years writing requirements, use cases, and user stories.
5+ years working in Agile project environments.
Strong political acumen, critical thinking, and client relationship skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to present complex ideas clearly.
Skilled in problem framing, decision-making, and stakeholder management.
Must pass a criminal record check and maintain a clean status during the engagement.
Nice-to-Haves
IIBA certification (e.g., CBAP) or training in BABOK framework.
Experience in government or public sector projects.
