Salary: From $50,000 to $55,000 per Annum
 

Our client, a manufacturing and supply chain organization located in Bampton is seeking a Payroll & HR Assistant to join their team on a full time permanent basis. This position offers opportunity to work a reputable, long-standing organization dedicate to employee growth and investment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees on a regular pay cycle, including calculations for wages, bonuses, deductions, and other adjustments.
  • Review and validate time-tracking data before each pay run to ensure accuracy.
  • Confirm all employee updates—such as new hires, job changes, and terminations—are entered correctly in the payroll system.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of payroll procedures and documentation to reflect best practices.
  • Generate recurring and ad hoc payroll and finance reports as needed.
  • Respond to inquiries related to pay, benefits, or deductions from employees and relevant agencies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing payroll documentation and reports as required.
  • Maintain organized payroll files and uphold the highest level of confidentiality and data integrity.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Finance, and other internal teams to ensure seamless processes and data accuracy.
  • Process regular third-party remittances and payments.
  • Assist the Payroll Lead with accounting-related payroll tasks.
  • Ensure payroll compliance with all applicable laws, internal policies, and reporting requirements.
  • Perform additional payroll and administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • At least 2-3 years of experience working in a similar roll with a main focus on payroll.
  • Valid PCP designation or in the process of pursuing
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation and employment standards.
  • Hands-on experience with integrated HRIS and payroll systems i.e. ADP, Ceridian, Bamboo HR, Peoplesoft.
  • Keen attention to detail and proven track record of accuracy with financial and payroll information.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems such as Ceridian and ADP
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
