TerraHR Consulting is proud to partner with Melicaa Management Consulting Inc. in the recruitment of Construction Site Monitors for a 15-month project in the Northwest Territories starting in January 2026.

They provide end-to-end leadership and oversight for healthcare, commercial, and public sector projects. They are currently supporting a client in the Northwest Territories that is seeking Construction Site Monitors for various Capital Projects in the Northwest Territories.  

Position Overview 

We’re seeking several Construction Site Monitors with experience in supervising construction projects. Located in the Northwest Territories, you will be working primarily on power-generating facilities. Monitors that have experience with civil construction as well as diesel plan upgrades will also be required from time to time.  

Key Responsibilities 

The Site Monitor is responsible for supervising projects requiring experience with hydro overhauls and therefore will need a strong understanding of the mechanical and electrical aspects of the work. You will ensure that during construction all contractors on site are following the necessary procedures such as but not limited to – safety policies, safe work practices and conducting safety risk analysis. You will not be required to change the scope or decisions that impact the project budget – as this will be up to the Project Manager. Your responsibilities include: 

  • Update the project safety plan throughout the course of the project. 

  • Author daily reports to be submitted each day – including photos, tailboards and safety documents 

  • Participate in tailboard meetings with contractors 

  • Incident reporting  

  • Maintain consistent communication between contractors and project managers 

  • Remain on site during construction each day for 12-hour periods 

  • Contact Project Manager with any issues that arise – written records when necessary 

  • File incident reports 

Qualifications 

  • Previous experience on a Construction Site (2-3 similar projects) 

  • Ability to read drawings and specifications 

  • Basic knowledge in MS Word, Teams, Outlook and PDF 

  • Experience in authoring daily reports 

  • Strong communication skills 

  • Obtain Work Protection training that will be provided by the client when you start 

  • First Aid Certification 

  • Ability to work 12 hours per day, 7 days a week, your schedule follows 3 weeks in and 3 weeks out 

  • Understanding that these are remote locations that you will be flown into and staying at a designated accommodation
