Our established client, a Non-Profit organization in Downtown Toronto, is seeking a full-time permanent Assistant Manager of Communications and Policy to join their team. This role offers a hybrid work model (2-3 days/week in-office), good benefits, and the chance to join a friendly team!
Roles and Responsibilities
-Manage and oversee strategic communications for the organization
-Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistency with branding and messaging
-Develop and execute communication plans and strategies
-Stakeholder engagement
-Oversee the Coordinator (duties include mentoring and performance management)
-Project management
-Prepare communications materials including written content for the website, news releases, brochures, social media content, email marketing, and others as needed.
-Respond to media inquiries
-Support with development and implementation of policies and procedures
-Represent the organization at external meetings/events/conferences as needed
-Other related duties as needed
Qualifications and Skills
-Must have completed a post-secondary degree/diploma in PR, Communications, Journalism, or a related field
-Must have a minimum of 5 years of communications experience
-Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of manager level experience
-Experience working in a Non-Profit/Regulatory body/Public sector/Education environment is a strong asset
-Must have experience with stakeholder relations
-Must have strong knowledge of communication strategies and best practices
-Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Must be proficient in MS Office, experience using design software is strongly preferred
-Must have project management experience
-Must have experience with policy-related communications, preferably in a regulatory environment
-Proficiency in French is a strong asset
-Must be highly organized and detail-oriented
-Must be able to multi-task and prioritize in a busy, deadline-driven environment
-Must be able to manage confidential information with a high sense of discretion
-Must have strong problem-solving and time management skills
