We’re assisting our client, a well-established investment management firm, in their search for a Senior Corporate Accountant to join their team on a hybrid basis in downtown Toronto. About the Role
The Senior Corporate Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, preparing financial reports, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with all relevant tax and regulatory requirements. This position also provides strategic support in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements and assist with year-end audits
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes
- Monitor daily cash balances, manage payments, and coordinate internal transactions
- Liaise with banks, auditors, tax advisors, and service providers
- Ensure compliance with all tax filings and corporate regulatory requirements, including T2, T3, T4, T5013, RDTOH, and deferred tax calculations.
- Review financials for holding companies and family trusts
- Support compliance activities, including maintaining accurate records and completing required filings
- Assist with CRA requests and ad hoc audits, and know about financial consolidation
- Contribute to process improvements and assist with special projects as needed
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CPA designation (or completion of CPA exams with hours pending approval) is a must-have.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, ideally within investment management, private companies, or family offices
- Strong knowledge of Canadian GAAP, tax regulations, and corporate compliance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAGE is an asset
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
