Our leading financial services client is looking for an IT Project Manager II to join their team. Reporting to the AVP, IT Applications, you will support the management of the IT project backlog and help ensure successful delivery across a portfolio of technology initiatives as well as help build up the PMO.
You’ll work closely with a multi-disciplinary team of product managers, architects, developers, and quality specialists, applying your project management expertise to enhance our intake, planning, and delivery processes.
This will be a hybrid role, reporting to the downtown Toronto office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage IT projects of varying size and complexity, including project planning, scheduling, and dependency management.
- Set PM standards and practices
- Assist to build the PMO
- Define project scope, monitor progress, and ensure focus on timely and effective delivery.
- Establish roles, responsibilities, and expectations within project teams.
- Identify resource needs and manage stakeholder communications to achieve project outcomes.
- Track and report on progress across all project work packages.
- Support IT project portfolio management, developing long-term plans and implementation roadmaps aligned with business priorities.
- Assist the Applications team with application development and release scheduling.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 5 + years of IT Project Management experience, with a proven record of delivering successful projects.
- Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Solid understanding of Agile project management methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment. Waterfall experience desirable.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project and Azure DevOps) and related techniques.
- Experience and understanding of the SDLC
- Previous PMO experience highly desirable
- PMP certification required; Certified Scrum Master (CSM) is an asset
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

- Financial Services industry, preferably with exposure to mortgage lending desirable but not a must have
