Roles and Responsibilities

The Solution Architect / Application Developer will support the Nuclear Business Technology Program in the design and build of a custom web application hosted in a self-managed Microsoft Azure environment. Working as part of a user-centered design team, this hybrid role combines architectural expertise with hands-on development to deliver secure, accessible, and scalable solutions.
Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the architectural design of the web application, including logical diagrams and system flow documentation.
• Perform full stack development using Microsoft Azure SDKs and frameworks.
• Ensure accessible and user-centered design principles are implemented throughout the application.
• Manage all phases of application build, including configuration management, quality assurance, and service level management.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and support materials.
• Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated code deployment.
• Provide end-user support and contribute to ongoing solution improvements.

 

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in architecture and hands-on development of custom web applications.
• Proven ability to translate user-centered design wireframes into functional applications.
• Senior-level proficiency in Microsoft Azure SDKs, frameworks, and integration in self-hosted environments.
• Demonstrated experience in code automation, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-based architecture.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to produce clear technical diagrams and logical process flows.
• Experience in accessible design/development and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to collaborate within a cross-functional design and development team.

 

Education

• Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Certification in Microsoft Azure Application Development and Architecture is required
