Our client, a Managing General Underwriter renowned with over 40 years of industry presence and a top recognized employer in Canada and across North America, is looking for a Reinsurance Claims Examiner to join their team on a full time permanent basis. Responsibilities
- Adjudicate Accident & Health claims, e.g. AD&D, temporary and permanent disability, critical illness.
- Process reinsuramce claims in Accident & Health.
- Ensure that company claims protocols and guidelines are adhered to throughout the claims handling process.
- Set and monitor loss and expense reserves.
- Liaise with underwriters, brokers and various other stakeholders in a professional and efficient manner.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of Accident & Health claims experience.
- Experience in reinsurance is a must have.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong investigative and analytical skills including understanding policy wordings.
- Effective interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Able to work independently within the overall team environment.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet various deadlines and stay organized.
- Experience working with Lloyd’s coverholders an asset.
Education
- College diploma or a university degree.
