Job Title: Procurement and Planning Manager

Position Summary
Do you have experience in procurement, purchasing, planning, and inventory management? Reporting to the VP of Supply Chain, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible for executing the supply chain strategy, focusing on demand forecasting and supply planning, procurement, and cross-functional collaboration. This role manages a team of four buyers to ensure strategies are aligned across the supply chain, inventory levels are optimized, and processes are continuously improved to meet customer needs and business goals.
Key Responsibilities
Demand and Supply Planning
Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts through usage data, historical trends, market intelligence, and cross-functional input.
Monitor and improve forecast accuracy through ongoing analysis and adjustments.
Collaborate with buyers to convert sales forecasts into supply plans that support business goals.
Procurement and Inventory Optimization
Oversee execution of procurement strategy and activities for the department.
Analyze inventory and create purchase orders for assigned suppliers as needed.
Monitor and optimize inventory levels, addressing excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventory through collaboration with internal teams.
Work closely with operations and logistics to ensure efficient inventory flow processes.
Set inventory parameters and maintain supplier-related system information.
Supplier Management
Develop and strengthen supplier relationships to support supply continuity and resolve performance issues.
Lead supplier business reviews to identify supply risks and opportunities.
Maintain supplier scorecards on an ongoing basis.
Team Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team.
Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback.
Foster a culture of cross-functional collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field (SCMA, APICS certifications are an asset).
5+ years of supply chain experience, preferably in industrial manufacturing or distribution.
Proven skills in demand forecasting, supply planning, and procurement.
Strong analytical skills with proficiency in ERP systems (Epicor strongly preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
Engaging leadership style with strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities.
Professional, diplomatic, and exercises good judgment in developing business relationships.
Ability to make timely decisions and act with urgency in response to trends and ad hoc events to serve customers.
Knowledge of electrical and automotive components is an asset.
