Payroll & Benefits Specialist (Contract)
Location: Downtown Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 to 3 days onsite)
Contract Duration: 5 months

Hours: 37.5 hours per week
About the Opportunity
We’re assisting our client, a leading organization in the real estate sector, in the search for a Payroll & Benefits Specialist to support their payroll operations through year-end. This role is ideal for a hands-on payroll professional who enjoys managing end-to-end payroll and benefits processes in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
This position works closely with both the Finance and People & Culture teams to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Manage bi-weekly payroll processing for approximately 400 employees using ADP WorkForce Now.
Oversee year-end activities, including T4s, reconciliations, and government filings.
Maintain accurate employee data for new hires, terminations, and salary changes.
Administer benefit enrollments, changes, and terminations, liaising with vendors as needed.
Collaborate with Finance on payroll accounting, GL reconciliations, and reporting.
Provide timely support for payroll and benefits inquiries while maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on payroll experience within a mid-to-large organization.
Strong knowledge of ADP WorkForce Now; experience with Ceridian is considered an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and understanding of payroll accounting principles.
Solid knowledge of year-end processing, T4s, ROEs, and reconciliations.
PCP certification preferred.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills.
