Salary: From $100 to $105 per Hour
 
Our client is seeking an experienced SAP Finance (FICO) Consultant to join their team on a 12-month contract. This position is open to remote candidates but must adhere to 8am-5pm PT working hours. Candidates must be elligible to work in Canada.

Position Description:
  • Lead the product roadmap of SAP S/4HANA Finance modules tailored for the utilities industry, covering General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), Controlling (CO), and Utility-specific financial processes.
  • Analyze and document finance and regulatory compliance processes unique to utilities, such as tariff management, regulatory reporting, and cost recovery mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with business and technical teams to align SAP configurations with industry-specific requirements including capital expenditure management, grants and subsidies accounting, and revenue recognition.
  • Support the integration of SAP Finance with utility-specific modules like SAP IS-U (Industry Solution for Utilities) to ensure seamless data flow and reporting.
  • Provide expert guidance on SAP best practices in utilities finance, including asset lifecycle management, depreciation, and environmental accounting.
  • Assist in regulatory compliance reporting requirements relevant to utilities (e.g., FERC, GAAP/IFRS, local utility commissions).
  • Design and execute data migration strategies from legacy systems specific to the utilities sector.
  • Conduct training and workshops for finance teams on SAP S/4HANA capabilities and utilities-specific financial processes.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve post-implementation issues, ensuring system stability and compliance.
  • Keep abreast of SAP and utilities industry trends, incorporating new functionalities and tools into ongoing and future projects.

Position Requirements:
  • A minimum seven (7) years of SAP implementation and support experience, which includes SAP project implementation, enhancement, and production support as well as integrating SAP with other enterprise applications.
  • A minimum five (5) years of Program /Project Management, lead consultant, integration manager, or solution architecture experience in various industries.
  • Strong knowledge of utilities finances processes including tariff and rate management, cost allocation, and regulatory reporting.
  • Hands-on experience configuring SAP S/4HANA Finance modules and integrating with SAP IS-U.
  • Understanding of industry regulations and compliance standards applicable to utilities.
  • Experience with SAP Activate methodology and Fiori apps for finance preferred.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex financial processes and provide solutions in a utilities context.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • SAP certification in S/4HANA Finance is required.
Preferred Skills:
  • Familiarity with asset-intensive industry financial management.
  • Knowledge of environmental and sustainability accounting in utilities.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams including operations, regulatory affairs, and IT.
  • Exposure to cloud-based SAP deployments.
  • Desired experience with AI or UI innovations
  • Reporting tool experience with narrative generation (eg. Workiva or equivalent)
