Purpose of Job:

The Product Specialist is a key player within the global business banking risk technology, supporting strategic enhancements to the business banking credit risk platform.

The internal and external demand for accurate, consistent and on-demand information from Global Risk Management continues grow. The business analyst is responsible for assisting with research and analysis leading to the definition of requirements and processes for global risk management.

This role will also responsible for assisting with the testing of new systems or enhancements, the training of users, and the provision of ongoing support to all global units.

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Assist the Lead Analyst by conducting research and analysis, and accurately and clearly defining user requirements and processes for well-defined tasks to assist in the resolution of problems to meet the needs of the business. 
  • Define, assess and write detailed analysis and documentation of Business Requirements for new applications & legacy systems enhancements, to be designed by development groups
  • Participate in the systems implementation process by assisting in the development of test cases and the conducting of testing, assisting in the definition of user procedures and workflows, assisting in the development of conversion and implementation strategies, and assisting in the provision of user documentation, user training, and post-implementation support.
  • Comply with and adopt all that laid down QAT test processes and procedures for all testing activities, and ensure that all the scenarios and expectations of the stakeholders are met and captured in testing; and document detailed test cases, test data; Follow QA best practices, methodologies, and standards to ensure the delivery of high-quality software
  • Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Education/Work Experience/Designations:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business / engineering as computer science, finance, accounting or related field required.
  • Ideally 1+ years’ experience in technical system analysis within a development team
  • Basic understanding of Business Analysis procedures and requirements, as well as technical design requirements.
  • Must have knowledge of using SQL on databases such as Oracle, MSSQL etc.
  • Comfortable work in data-rich environment, analytical, detail oriented, highly organized.
  • Basic understanding of technical design, systems infrastructure, and IT&S analysis/process requirements is highly desirable
