Your Opportunity

Stantec is currently seeking an Oracle E-Business Database Administrator to join our Global Database Services Team reporting to our Manager, Advanced Technology. Occasional on-call shifts will be required on a rotational basis. This position affords opportunity for working from home but will be based within commutable distance to one of our major Canadian office locations.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support for Oracle Applications upgrades.

  • Problem management [i.e., problem identification, management and resolution]

  • Patch analysis and patch application

  • Performance monitoring and tuning of Databases, Oracle Application Servers and E-business Software.

  • Database Backup and Recovery.

  • Planning, Testing and Performing software upgrades.

  • Assisting with database loads and data conversion activities.

  • Cloning and supporting environments.

  • Service request resolution.

  • Supporting and enhancing Stantec's High Availability Architecture and disaster recovery operations

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Extensive Oracle and Oracle E-Business Suite application experience.

  • Minimum of 8-10 years' experience providing Oracle DBA support in a LINUX/UNIX environment, of which 2 years must have been working with Oracle 19C.

  • Minimum of 3 years providing Oracle E-Business Suite support in a UNIX environment of which 2 years must have been working with Oracle E-Business suite versions 12.2, OIDM12c, OEM 13C.

  • Sound understanding of database fundamentals with Database Backup and Recovery, partitioning and security

  • Experience with RHEL Linux is mandatory, experience working with other Operating systems such as Itanium, AIX or Solaris would be an asset

  • Experience in shell scripting in a UNIX or Linux environment.

  • Experience in Perl or Python programming will be considered an asset.

  • Experience in using Oracle Enterprise Manager 13c for managing environments will be considered an asset.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; this position requires a high degree of involvement leading meetings and regularly communicating to various stakeholders.

  • Please note that this position will require after-hours.

  • We are looking for team players that can work in a very dynamic and challenging environment.

  • Experience with Azure will be an asset.

  • SQL*Server experience will be an asset.

  • Oracle Certified Professional certification will be an asset.

Education and Experience

  • Minimum 8 years relevant experience.

  • Related degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of
