Our Environmental Site Investigation and Remediation team includes Contaminant Hydrogeologists, Risk Assessment specialists, Environmental Engineers and Scientists, and a host of other specialties that focus on the investigation, assessment, remediation and redevelopment of contaminated sites. At Stantec, we are focused on the communities we live in, and our Environmental Site Investigation and Remediation practice is dedicated to the goal of maximizing the successful and economically appropriate use of the land resources our clients are engaged with. We are making the world a cleaner place, one site at a time! We are seeking Environmental Site Assessors to work with our Environmental Site Investigation and Remediation practice in our London, Waterloo, Hamilton, Mississauga, Markham, Thunder Bay or Ottawa offices.
Your Key Responsibilities
As a key practitioner working on contaminated sites in Ontario, you will provide technical and client management expertise on a variety of projects including the development and implementation of work programs and management of schedules, budgets, and client deliverables relating to Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II ESAs, remediation programs, and hydrogeological investigations.
Work with junior, intermediate, and senior staff on environmental projects and guide project deliverables
Manage environmental site assessment and remediation projects, from proposal development to project completion
Ensure quality and health and safety requirements and procedures are identified and followed throughout a project's life cycle
Prepare technical reports summarizing project work, findings, and recommendations
Other responsibilities include developing proposals; coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and internal project staff; and performing and overseeing project technical work
Demonstrate sound application of established practices, standards, and guidelines
Provide staff mentorship and training
Apply technical and business knowledge and methods to develop creative, effective, and economical solutions to address current and potential project issues
Travel to project sites may be required and a valid G license and access to a vehicle is required
Your Capabilities and Credentials
A strong aptitude for client management
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A strong affinity for teamwork, training, and mentoring junior staff
Ability to work under little supervision and work well with others to achieve group success
Ability to work on several projects or tasks during any given day consistently
Promote a strong health and safety culture and actively participate in Stantec’s Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Program
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum of 10 years of related contaminated site management experience with particular emphasis on industrial and brownfield properties
P.Geo. or P.Eng. registration is an asset but not a requirement for this position
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
