Water, Wastewater, Municipal, Power and the Public Sector is seeking a Structural CAD Technologist.

Our team regularly collaborates on projects within the local BC markets, and across North America. One thing that makes our team so special is the diversity in expertise amongst our peers. The successful candidate should be comfortable working and collaborating on a variety of different projects alongside a multi-discipline team. One week you could be working on small local projects, such as a municipal pump stations, and the next week a multibillion-dollar project supporting a global team.

We are seeking enthusiastic, self-motivated, team players that are excited about taking on a new challenge. Stantec is looking for a successful candidate that will be based out of the Burnaby of Victoria office. While the successful candidate will be based in British Columbia, they will be supporting, and will have support from, team members across North America. Stantec is looking for a maximum of two structural technologists (one in Burnaby and one in Victoria). Positions will be in-office a minimum of 4 days a week to facilitate face-to-face collaboration and training.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing structural drawings for engineering projects with AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Preparing drawings for building plans, sections, and related detailing from concept to final design.

  • Setting up AutoCAD drawings and Revit models in adherence with Stantec and client standards.

  • Preparing presentation graphics and report figures.

  • Coordinating project drawings with project managers, technical staff, and other disciplines.

  • Completing model reviews and clash detection while collaborating with other disciplines.

  • Ensuring that the projects' needs are met in a timely and effective manner.

  • Understanding and adhering to Stantec and client standards.

  • Training junior staff in AutoCAD and Revit.

  • Completing site reviews of structural projects.

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

  • Strong communication skills, along with excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities and a willingness to work in a team atmosphere.

  • Highly organized, have significant attention to detail, able to prioritize multiple tasks and demonstrate a flexible approach to work assignments.

  • Experience with MS Office Suite including Word, and Excel.

  • Class 5 drivers license considered an asset.

Education and Experience

  • A Civil Technologist Diploma

  • Experience and familiarity with concrete and steel construction and water resources disciplines and/or an education background in these areas.

  • A minimum of 5 years of related experience in structural consulting, and a comprehensive knowledge of AutoCAD, Autodesk BIM 360, Revit, Point clouds and MS Teams.

Pay Range:

• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $ 84,500.00 - Max Salary $ 122,400.00

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
