Manager of Software Engineering
Location: Gatineau, QC (Hybrid – 2 days onsite per week)
Industry: Networking Technology
Salary: $140,000 - 150,000 per year

About the Role:
We are hiring for our networking technology industry client, seeking a Supervisor, Software Engineering to lead a team of developers working on mission-critical telecom and enterprise applications. This role combines technical oversight, project management, and people leadership to ensure efficient, on-time delivery of software projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Motivate, guide, and mentor software developers; conduct performance reviews and support career development.
  • Project Management: Oversee project planning, execution, and delivery; manage timelines, budgets, and dependencies.
  • Technical Oversight: Ensure code quality, select tools and processes, provide technical guidance, and enforce best practices.
  • Collaboration: Act as liaison between development teams and stakeholders, fostering strong communication.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience leading software development teams through full lifecycle projects
  • Strong background in high-availability systems, call processing, and telephony standards
  • Experience with Jira, cloud-native design, and tools like RabbitMQ, Kafka, or Redis Streams (asset)
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team management skills
  • Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • English and French bilingualism is an asset
