We are working with a Federal Government client seeking a Database Modeller for a 6-month remote contract to support with translating a SAS complier into an R package.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of five (5) years of work experience related to Forest Biometric Consulting Services.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in estimating and analyzing compiled forest biometric attributes (from field and/or laboratory data), including the application of ground plot inventory protocols and the use of field measurements to derive compiled attributes at the site, plot, and tree levels.
  • Proficiency in forest biometrics to understand the nature and scope of the NFI GP compilation procedures
  • Proficiency in both SAS and R programming for accurate code translation
  • Proficiency in developing and creating R packages

Education

  • Hold a graduate degree in Forest Measurements and Biometry (or closely related field) from a recognized post-secondary institution
