What we’re looking for 

 

We are recruiting for multiple roles.

 

We are looking for three experienced Naval Surveyors who will assess the design, production, and in-service aspects of engineering assets, using procedures, experience and knowledge appropriate for complex / demanding situations. The role may also include managing projects.

The role 

  • Conduct relevant activities and provide expert advice for service delivery within one's own area of experience, ensuring compliance with budget constraints and contractual requirements.
  • Produce deliverables within agreed parameters, adhering to defined formats, and meeting deadlines, budget, and quality standards.
  • Discuss and present deliverables with internal and external clients, offering suitable solutions when necessary.
  • Perform activities in accordance with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
  • Pursue Continuous Professional Development to maintain a high level of discipline, knowledge, and awareness.
  • Assess and recommend appropriate time and value for work undertaken for external clients, assisting in determining the most suitable fee and cost structure.
  • Provide guidance to other employees as needed, facilitating effective knowledge transfer and application.
  • Contribute to service delivery improvement by communicating internal and external client feedback as relevant.
  • Undertake routine administration tasks as required, following current processes and procedures.

 

What you bring 

  • A degree or equivalent from a tertiary organization recognized by Lloyd’s Register in the relevant field of engineering or physical science. The degree program should have been a minimum of two years in duration. Alternatively, qualifications from a marine or nautical institution and relevant sea-going experience as a certificated ship's officer will also be considered.
  • Membership in an appropriate professional institution.
  • Working towards or achieving Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status.
  • Adherence to professional codes of conduct and the LR Code of Ethics in IMS01.
  • The ability to utilize a combination of general and specialist engineering knowledge and understanding to apply existing and emerging technology.
  • Capability to apply suitable theoretical and practical methods to design, develop, manufacture, construct, commission, operate, and maintain engineering products, processes, systems, and services.
  • Proficiency in technical and commercial management, such as project management and process management.
  • Proficiency in the English language that is suitable for the nature of the work.

 

Preferred but not required

  • Classification Society experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred
