Altis Recruitment is grateful to partner with an organization within the Broader Public Sector to support the recruitment of a Senior Procurement Specialist. This position is a 12 month contract working in a hybrid structure out of their Burnaby office. The successful candidate will join a small and collaborative Strategic Supply Management team within the People, Culture & Sustainability portfolio. This role will support a variety of business areas including HR, Claims, and IT by leading large-scale, complex procurement initiatives.
The successful candidate will bring expertise in public procurement, excellent relationship-building skills, and the ability to guide stakeholders through the end-to-end procurement process, from market research through to contract execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex, competitive procurement processes (e.g. RFPs, RFIs) for high-value, large-scale initiatives across multiple business lines.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to develop sourcing strategies, manage the bidding process, and negotiate contracts.
- Provide strategic advice and guidance to cross-functional teams and senior leaders throughout the procurement lifecycle.
- Draft clear, concise, and comprehensive solicitation documents, memos, and approval documents.
- Apply strong project management skills to ensure procurement projects are completed on time and within scope.
- Build and maintain productive supplier and stakeholder relationships.
Qualifications & Skills
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in public procurement and demonstrated success leading complex sourcing initiatives in large organizations.
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles, sourcing strategies, bidding processes, and contract negotiations.
- Experience guiding teams and stakeholders through end-to-end procurement processes.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and gain buy-in from diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple concurrent projects.
- Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline is an asset.
- SCMP designation is an asset but not mandatory.
