Agilus is recruiting for a Senior Technical and Project Manager in the Engineering & Construction industry in Edmonton, Alberta.
This is a senior role on the team and responsible for learning and leading key product/services from a technical and estimating/project management perspective. This leader will ensure bidding opportunities are tracked and that appropriate bidding opportunities are estimated and bid on time and accurately and that the Estimator/Project Coordinators monitor/manage their projects. This individual reports to the President & Senior Engineer and has a close working relationship with the Director of Planning & Technology, Controller, HR & Administration Manager, and BD personnel.
How you will make an impact:
Lead with expertise: Review and authenticate QA/QC documentation and design details within areas of professional competence.
Responsible for acquiring in-depth knowledge of the company’s core products and services, and for providing leadership in technical design, estimating, and project management.
Drive project delivery: Manage estimating, proposals, cost control, and ensure projects are executed on time and on budget.
Mentor & grow teams: Supervise and develop Estimators/Project Coordinators (EITs).
Partner with clients: Provide technical and engineering guidance to clients throughout the project lifecycle.
Innovate: Identify opportunities and contribute to the development of new products, processes, and smarter project execution.
Business development: Facilitate the cultivation of strategic client relationships by coordinating formal luncheons and dinners with principal stakeholders—including owners, contractors, and engineering representatives—to reinforce professional rapport and promote long-term engagement with the organization.
Ensure all estimates are prepared accurately and submitted with a minimum two-day buffer prior to bid closing.
Successful candidates will have:
P.Eng designation in Mechanical Engineering (preferred) or Civil Engineering
5+ years’ of estimating and project management experience
Practical, hands-on approach — comfortable bridging design work with field implementation
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Engineering and construction project experience is highly desirable
