Our energy client is seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to provide support within the Supply Chain function for a 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will manage complex procurement assignments, oversee contract development and administration, and maintain strong vendor and stakeholder relationships. This role requires deep technical knowledge of procurement for consulting services, engineered products, and construction projects, combined with strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
This is a hybrid position in Toronto, ON (3 days onsite, 2 days WFH).
Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and coordinate procurement for consulting services, engineered products, and construction services.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies and contracts in compliance with policies and procedures.
- Review requisitions, specifications, and project schedules to ensure alignment with technical and scheduling requirements.
- Manage sourcing activities, including preparing RFPs, evaluating bids, negotiating terms, and awarding contracts.
- Administer contracts, including claims, progress payments, and adjustments.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Commerce, Engineering, or related field; Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation or equivalent preferred.
- 8–10 years of progressive procurement and supply chain experience.
- Proven expertise in procurement processes, contract management, and supplier negotiations.
- Strong technical knowledge of complex contracts for consulting services, engineered products, and construction projects.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, databases).
