Our client working in the Non-Profit space is hiring for a Total Rewards Specialist to join their team starting on a 4 month contract. This contract has the potential to extend to be one year in total. This position is working fully remote within Canada.
The Total Rewards Specialist is responsible for managing payroll, compensation, and benefits across Canada. This role ensures accuracy, compliance with legislation, and consistency in compensation practices.
Key Responsibilities
Administer pan-Canadian payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing.
Handle employee changes impacting payroll (leaves, transfers, status changes, etc.).
Prepare and validate payroll, tax slips (T4s, T2200s), and government filings.
Administer salaries, annual reviews, and job evaluations to support fair and competitive compensation.
Manage group benefits, wellness allowance claims, and pension contributions.
Advise employees and managers on leave policies, and conduct regular audits for compliance.
Maintain strong vendor relationships and support employees with payroll and benefits inquiries.
Continuously improve processes to enhance efficiency and employee experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, HR, or related field.
Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) designation required.
Minimum 3 years’ payroll experience in a medium to large organization (pan-Canadian experience preferred).
Experience with ADP Workforce Now is required.
Strong Excel and MS Office skills.
Bilingual (English/French) preferred.
