Our client in the Non-Profit space is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Bilingual Donor Relations Coordinator to join their team on a 2 month contract. This is working in a hybrid model, working 2 days onsite per week in Ottawa. 

This role will involve providing excellent customer service through phone, email, and mail, focusing on donor retention and single and monthly gift processing. The coordinator will ensure donors have an exceptional experience and represent the brand, policies, and global work accurately.

  • Bilingual in English and French required.
  • Location: Ottawa.
  • 2 month contract

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and respond to donor inquiries and complaints by phone, email, and mail in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Monitor public email inboxes, categorize, and track emails in the Raiser’s Edge database to provide reports on email volume and trends.
  • Stay up-to-date on current projects and programs, connecting with donors to explain the position on various issues.
  • Update donor contact and biographical information in the Raiser’s Edge database in line with Donor Services policies.
  • Locate and research specific donations in the database, providing information to donors and financial managers as needed.
  • Manage incoming donations and receipt requests according to organizational processes and policies.
  • Handle donor inquiries related to the gifts program and maintain knowledge of the online system.
  • Work with the Database Manager to troubleshoot gift processing issues and online donor inquiries.
  • Assist the Donor Relations Team with administrative tasks, such as filing and database clean-up.
  • Execute the Welcome Package print and mail process for new monthly donors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • 1-3 years of customer service experience, preferably handling phone calls and responding to emails.
  • Bilingual in English and French required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiasm for learning and communicating about the organizations global mission to end poverty.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Outlook.
  • Familiarity with fundraising databases, preferably Raiser’s Edge (Fundraise Up experience an asset).
  • Strong multitasking abilities and the ability to manage difficult conversations while maintaining composure.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to foster an environment of respect, equality, and safety.
