Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist

Our established engineering client is seeking a highly motivated Talent Acquisition Specialist to join their team. This is a full-time, permanent position that can be based out of their Ottawa, Halifax, or Victoria locations. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering full-cycle recruitment solutions across a wide range of functions, including Operations, Quality, Logistics, Engineering, and Corporate roles.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle recruitment processes, from job posting to offer acceptance.
- Partner with HR Business Partners and Hiring Managers to understand workforce needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
- Source candidates using a variety of channels including Success Factors, LinkedIn, job fairs, referrals, and direct outreach.
- Screen and pre-qualify candidates through competency-based interviews, creating strong shortlists for hiring managers.
- Coordinate and facilitate selection panel interviews, while coaching managers on behavioral, situational, and technical interviewing techniques.
- Ensure recruitment practices comply with legislative and statutory requirements.
- Oversee background checks, reference verifications, and other pre-employment processes with third-party vendors.
- Draft and extend offer letters, negotiate compensation packages, and coordinate start dates.
- Maintain accurate candidate records and recruitment documentation.
- Collaborate with external recruitment agencies when required.
- Prepare and deliver reports on talent acquisition activities and outcomes.
- Contribute to broader HR and talent initiatives as needed.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of full-cycle recruitment experience.
- Must be eligible for Canadian Secret Security Clearance.
- Fluency in English and French (highly preferred).
- A post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related discipline preferred.
- Demonstrated experience using Success Factors, LinkedIn, or similar tools for candidate sourcing and headhunting.
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a high-volume, time-sensitive environment.
- Strong collaboration skills, with the ability to build trusted partnerships across teams.
