Job Title: Contract Manager

Our client in the construction industry is seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join their Finance and Administration department. The successful candidate will oversee the negotiation, administration, and compliance of construction-related contracts while collaborating with both Canadian and U.S. stakeholders across a variety of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Review & Negotiation: Evaluate and negotiate terms for service, maintenance, refurbishment, and new construction agreements to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential contractual risks and collaborate with legal and project management teams to mitigate issues proactively.
- Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, subcontractors, property managers, and clients, serving as the primary point of contact for all contract-related discussions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, finance, and legal teams to ensure proper execution of contract terms throughout the project lifecycle.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of all contract documents, and prepare regular updates and reports for senior management.
- Dispute Resolution: Support resolution of contract disputes, claims, and issues through negotiation and coordination with legal resources when required.
- Administrative Support: Provide general support to the contracts and legal department as needed.
Qualifications:
- 5–10 years of progressive experience in contract management, administration, or related roles within the construction industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, law, business, or a related discipline.
- Strong familiarity with legal terminology, including the ability to interpret and apply complex contractual language.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and analytical skills; detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
- Prior experience with cross-border (Canada–U.S.) construction projects is an asset.
- Professional certifications in contract management or legal compliance preferred.
