We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to lead, plan, and implement HR strategies and programs in alignment with organizational goals. This is a people-leadership role where you will oversee a team of HR professionals and play a critical part in shaping employee experience, labour relations, and organizational culture.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of 6-8 HR professionals, including coaching, development, and performance management.
- Partner with the HR Director to deliver on strategic HR initiatives while providing hands-on leadership for day-to-day HR operations.
- Oversee labour relations, including grievances, arbitration, and interpretation of collective agreements.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on employee relations, organizational design, performance management, and succession planning.
- Drive change management initiatives such as compensation reviews, HRIS implementation, and return-to-office strategies.
- Develop HR KPIs, metrics, and reporting to measure program effectiveness and inform decision-making.
- Lead and support HR program areas, including: Recruitment, Learning and Development, Health & Safety and Policy Development
- Experience in a unionized environment (public sector, not-for-profit, or regulatory experience preferred).
- Previous experience working with or presenting to senior leadership and/or a Board of Directors.
- Familiarity with HRMS systems and HR analytics.
Qualifications and Skills
- 8+ years of progressive HR experience, with 2–3 years in a leadership role (Manager, HRBP Lead, or Senior HRBP).
- Strong experience in labour relations: grievances, arbitration, and collective agreement administration.
- Proven ability to lead teams with an open, approachable, and people-first leadership style.
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, including employee engagement, performance management, and succession planning.
- Experience supporting change management in areas such as HR systems, compensation reviews, or return-to-office transitions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to act as both a strategic partner and a hands-on HR leader in a growing organization.
Education
- Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related discipline.
- CHRP/CHRL designation is an asset.
