The Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives division provides strategic and integrated policy and project services and functions for Justice. The division’s focus centers on cross-divisional and cross-ministry projects such as strategic policy initiatives, business transformations and Justice Digital. The Legislative Services unit, in the Strategic Policy and Planning Branch, provides legislative services to the Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives division and support across Alberta Justice.
Reporting to the Director, Legislative Services, the Manager, Legislative Services is responsible for providing expertise in legislative planning, development, and project management services.
The Manager of Legislative Services ensures the delivery of high-quality legislative services within government policies and procedures, decision making and legislative processes, and provincial legislative drafting standards and practices, in line with the department's strategic priorities and goals. Legislative development activities may include oversight, design, development, advice, research, analysis, identifying issues and solutions, drafting legislative documents, and the overall management of legislative development projects and processes.
You will have a thorough knowledge of GOA's legislative and policy approval processes. You will apply your exceptional problem-solving, strategic thinking, and critical thinking skills to develop innovative solutions to highly complex and unique issues within a dynamic environment. You will have strong organization, time management and problem-solving skills, and will apply project management approaches to plan and coordinate the team’s work on time-sensitive projects.
