Reporting to the Managing Director, Term Funding & Capital Management, the Director will be responsible to support department initiatives with respect to the below, as applicable:

 

  • Issuance and diversification of the Bank's capital and/or wholesale term funding
  • Management of the Bank's capital and/or wholesale funding programs
  • Debt investor marketing of the Bank’s capital and/or wholesale funding programs

 

Is this role right for you?  In this role, you will:

 

  • Manage the issuance, redemption and/or repurchase of capital and/or wholesale term funding and related program requirements:
    • Perform market research, pricing and analysis to identify execution opportunities
    • Identify execution opportunities
    • Interact with dealers and rating agencies
    • Manage transaction execution, including regulatory requirements, documentation and settlement
    • Manage program renewals (Board approval, regulatory filings) and continuous disclosure requirements
    • Support Quarterly Bank financial statement review (capital and funding programs disclosure) and related due diligence process
    • Document and maintain manual of established processes and controls
    • Monitor usage against shelf limits

 

  • Support diversification of capital and/or wholesale term funding
    • Identify opportunities for new products, markets and/or programs supported by research, analysis and other diligence
    • Obtain internal and external approvals
    • Manage drafting of program documentation and/or amendments to existing documents
    • Liaise with business lines for data if applicable
    • Establish and maintain appropriate processes and policies

 

  • Manage a team responsible for trade booking, internal reporting, analytics and department processes and ensure adherence and sufficiency of these processes, such as: 
    • Preparation and update of wholesale term funding plan and/or capital plan
    • Update and maintenance of dealer scorecard, issuance database, etc.
    • Investor reporting for capital and wholesale term funding programs
    • Collateral pool management, in conjunction with product areas, as applicable
    • Maintain deal booking in bank systems, as well calendars and schedules to support department efficiency

 

  • Support the Bank’s Sustainable Bond Program, if applicable:
    • Maintenance and update of the Bank’s Sustainable Issuance Framework
    • Identify opportunities and execute on sustainable bond issuances
    • Oversee sustainable bond portfolio and use of proceeds/reporting requirements

 

  • Support Group Treasury’s Fixed Income Investor Relations, if applicable:
    • Prepare annual fixed income investor marketing plan
    • Support preparation of Bank, Treasury and/or deal-specific marketing materials in conjunction with Investor Relations
    • Participate in Investor meetings in conjunction with Investor Relations and address investor related inquiries

 
•    Maintain expert-level knowledge of the Bank’s funding vehicles and markets. Thoroughly understand the associated legal, financial, operational and regulatory considerations
•    Support internal and external control functions (audit, SoX, Operational Risk, compliance, etc)
•    Support Department Initiatives, including Bank-wide regulatory projects or requirements (ie. Resolution, playbooks, stress testing)
•    Effective supervision and review of direct report(s) to support achievement of business objectives

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

 

  • Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, finance, mathematics, economics or accounting designation preferred.
  • Non-business degree combined with CFA or accounting designation would be acceptable.
  • Capital markets experience preferred
  • Ability to manage a high-performing team in a demanding environment
  • Strategic influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and math skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail is required
  • Ability to review and understand complex structured transactions and related documentation
