The Director leads and oversees Business Human Resources activities ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures. Responsible for coaching and advising senior business leaders on workforce related topics, opportunities, talent strategies, etc. The HRBP works with business line leadership teams (SVP+) to meet people aspects of business needs by leveraging strategies and guidelines created in Communities of Expertise (COEs), and HR Services’ delivery and insight capabilities.

 

This role works directly with the Global Operations Leadership Team. Global Operations represents over 14,000 employees globally who strive to simplify, standardize, and optimize our end-to-end processes to enable high quality experiences across markets and client segments. Highly diverse, the group is comprised of International Operations, Global Transaction Banking Operations, Global Wholesale Operations, Global Fraud, Procurement, Real Estate and Corporate Services, Enterprise Process Design and Enablement, Global Risk Operations and Resilience, Global Business Services and Global Collections. 

 

Is this role right for you? In this role you will:

  • Lead and drive a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Represent HR in strategic planning / decision making and ongoing meetings with the broader business line leadership team and participates in HR strategy development. Deploy strategic solutions to meet business objectives and provides strategic direction for the business.
  • Provide proactive talent thought leadership and insights based on current internal trends and/or emerging external trends for business leaders. Provide people and workforce related advice, strategies, and solutions related to workforce planning, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, compensation, and succession planning using tools and assets developed by COEs. Leverage workforce data generated by HR Services to formulate people insights and recommendations.
  • Advocate and champions the HR operating model within the business. Proactively contribute to the transformation of the HR operating model, with the aim of creating a globally integrated function that is scalable, flexible, and efficient.
  • Act as the key point of contact for business needs, leveraging COE solutions to meet business objectives. Coach’s and develop leaders and managers to deliver people management capabilities. Parner and bring in resources from the CE to implement HR solutions that meet the distinctive challenges and needs of the business.
  • Understand the business’ markets, environment, and needs, sharing insight back into Business HR the COE and HR Services.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, AML/ATF risk and conduct risk, including but not limited to responsibilities under the Operational Risk Management Framework, Regulatory Compliance Risk Management Framework, AML/ATF Global Handbook and the Guidelines for Business Conduct.
  • Build a high-performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment; communicating vison/values/business strategy and managing succession and development planning for the team.

 

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role? - We'd love to work with you if you have:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Undergraduate degree, preferably with focus on business/human resources or work-related experience.
  • CHRP, CHRL or other HR designation, is an asset.
    Strong communications skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. Ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization. Able to collaborate with HR stakeholders and business partners and coach managers. Actively listens and seeks to understand needs with genuine curiosity.
  • Strong people leadership skills, problem solving, conflict management and negotiation skills
  • Strong ability to strategically influence and persuade senior leaders. Strong ability to effectively perform in a complex, high change environment while being a positive steward for the global HR team
  • Results oriented and able to effectively execute in a fast past environment
  • Expert strategic capabilities to assess issues and their potential impact on the Bank’s image and reputation
  • Excellent project management skills to oversee execution of complex communications strategies
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, independence and collaboration, with an ability to build strong cross-cultural and cross-divisional team relationships
  • Strong business acumen and understanding to allow appropriate partnership with client groups
  • Effectively leverages multiple business tools to define and execute the HR and change component of business strategies
  • Understands how the data relates to actions and results for an individual person or team.
