Type: 12-month contract, possibility for extension
Location: Remote within Ontario or Quebec
Our client, a nonprofit organization, is seeking a skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join their team for a one-year contract. This role is primarily remote with a base location in Ottawa.
The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the CFO and will be responsible for overseeing financial planning, analysis, budgeting, accounting, and business planning for the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct financial reporting, planning, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis for the department.
- Conduct in-depth research and prepare multi-year financial plans.
- Analyze financial trends, prepare reports, and mentor managers in financial management.
- Upload budgets, including departmental budgets, into the finance system.
- Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements and cash flow reports for internal departments, the CEO, and the Board.
- Collaborate with the Associate Director of Finance to finalize the annual budget and quarterly forecasts.
- Support major capital projects, monitor expenses against budgets, and manage invoicing and purchase orders.
Qualifications:
- CPA or CFA designation
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in financial analysis and budgeting at the corporate level
- Strong experience in full-cycle accounting
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and proficient in Excel, Power BI, Power Query
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills
- Team-oriented, with the ability to interact and communicate across all organizational levels
